Then when we got down, we went a took a picture of this old mill that is right down the street from where we stay in Cottonwood Heights. Apparently, it's been used in a few movies...therefore I am obsessed with it :)

Interview Day!
Today we had our formal interview at St. Mark's Hospital (where we are doing our clerkship now). It went really well...we know everyone now and LOVE the program so it was really just a fun way to have scheduled hang out time with the residents and the program director :) After lunch, they let us have some time off, so we drove to Big Cottonwood Canyon (the home of Brighton and Solitude ski resorts). Here's what it looked like:
Aaaaand, of course, here's what we looked like when we were there:
Where's Waldo?
Solitude looked like this...pretty swanky:
And a little further up the canyon...Brighton!
As we drove back down, we stopped at the little turn offs along the way and found a ton of hiking trails up to various lakes in the area. Here's proof, as Matt loves maps:

And here's a sign nearby...because everyone lives downstream of someplace (or downriver...right Southgate?):
So after our tour we headed to Sugarhouse to meet up with the residents for dinner (as part of our interview day they all took us out to the Oasis). All in all...a pretty sweet day!

Trip to Traverse City
Last Sunday, Audrey and I made a trip to Traverse City for our first residency interview! We had to make it into a quick trip because we were leaving for Utah on Tuesday afternoon. Audrey had never been to Traverse before, so she was very impressed with the scenery (especially the bay... pictures to follow).
That red barn in the distance is part of the farm Matt's mom (Karen) grew up on, we tried to take more pictures from the moving car, but unfortunately they didn't turn out. (click the pictures to make them bigger)
This is us arriving at the hotel. Matt is showing off his new "manual transmission driving skills", they will be important on the next leg of our journey.
This is the Bayshore Inn where the program put us up for the night. It was right on the bay, and had it's own private beach.
This is the family medicine office where residents complete their outpatient rotations. Residents work in the clinic everyday, even if they are rotating in the hospital.
Here we are on the beach. As we post pictures from all our adventures you'll notice we take a lot of pictures that look like this.
Here's another one of those "close-up pics" I was warning you about. Good thing we're so nice to look at!
